Interview with Jonathan Glazer, film director Age 37, Comes from London

Did you always want to work in film?
Yet you went on to study a degree in Theatre Design. Why not a film course?
Was this the right choice?
What did you do after university?
Were you worried you weren't going to make it?
How were you lucky?
How were you lucky? By chance I got a job in a company making film trailers. I spent the next three years editing the trailers, writing voiceovers and choosing music. It was a great route into the industry and I learnt a great deal. I started to do more work behind the camera and become known and eventually made a short film called 'Mad' which won a lot of acclaim. Suddenly everyone wanted me to direct their films, I was the 'blue-eyed boy'.
Did the work flood in then?
Any advice for aspiring film makers?
And when you wake up in the mornings, do you look forward to work?
